Raunøy recreation site
Welcome to visit Raunøy. A recreation site at the far end of Masfjorden. Here you can rent a room for a short or a slightly longer stay. Raunøy is a special place in the middle of the fjord and nature where you can relax and recharge your batteries without the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Here you can fish, swim, go for walks or take a rowing trip in a rowing boat or kayak and, if you're lucky, you can see the eagles that live on the island or watch porpoises in the fjord.
On the island you can rent rooms with access to a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals or you can choose to rent rooms where all meals are served.
The island of Raunøy is located Fensfjorden in the Masfjorden. The entire island is privately owned, and you can only get out here by private boat. Here there are no cars or disturbing noise, only nature and wildlife such as birds, sheep, goats, hens and rabbits, as well as the house's two cats. The island has two houses, one of which is operated as a small farm and the other as a recreation site.
This is how you find it
Raunøy is an island in Masfjorden municipality. You can get here either by driving to Masfjordnes ferry pier and parking there, or by bus. You will be picked up from the wharf just before the ferry berth in the host's private boat. Bring your own life jacket if you have one. If not, you can borrow. Parking on a gravel lot close to the ferry berth.
If you come by bus, it goes from Bergen bus station to Knarvik bus terminal and on with bus no. 300 towards Andvik. Get off at the Masfjordnes ferry quay.
You will be picked up at the wharves just before the ferry port, follow the road down towards the sea towards older white buildings and a small marina. It is recommended that you pack in a sack or bag, as suitcases cannot be wheeled up to the house.
